Clover is a perennial herb. It has violet purple flowers. It is found on stony slopes, meadows and steppe areas with an altitude of 250-2000 meters. The flowering period begins in May and continues until September. It is found naturally in Zonguldak, Gümüşhane, Erzurum, Kars, Nevşehir, Sivas, Erzincan, Muş, Ağrı and Gaziantep. When freshly harvested, alfalfa honey is light yellow in color and crystallizes quickly. Crystallized alfalfa honey acquires a solid and creamy appearance. Honey has a very nice aroma and unique taste. Because of its abundant nectar and yielding quality honey, clover is among the important honey plants. More than 400 kg of honey is obtained from one hectare of clover.
